Retail trade turnover in January 2010

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on the preliminary results from the survey of trade and catering enterprises, the turnover of retail trade, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles enterprises in January 2010 amounted to LTL 1894.4 million (in 2009, LTL 2139.9 million) and, against December 2009, decreased by 21.8 per cent at constant prices (in January 2009, against December 2008, turnover had dropped by 31.8 per cent).

In January 2010, against December 2009, the turnover of retail trade enterprises, except for those trading in motor vehicles and motorcycles, dropped by 20.4 per cent at constant prices. The turnover of enterprises trading in non-food products (motor vehicles excluded) dropped by 24.7 per cent, those trading in food products – by 17.8 per cent at constant prices.

The turnover of enterprises trading in automotive fuel in January 2010, against December 2009, dropped by 17.3 per cent at constant prices.

The turnover of enterprises engaging in wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles in January 2010, against December 2009, dropped by 26.9 per cent at constant prices.

The turnover of food and beverage service enterprises in January 2010 amounted to LTL 61.1 million (in 2009, LTL 78.2 million) and, against December 2009, dropped by 11.8 per cent at constant prices (in January 2009, against December 2008, turnover had dropped by 10.6 per cent).

The turnover of enterprises engaging in retail trade, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (VAT excluded) in January 2010, against January 2009, dropped by 12.2 per cent at constant prices (in January 2009, against January 2008, turnover had dropped by 27.7 per cent).

In January 2010, against January 2009, the turnover of retail trade enterprises, except for those trading in motor vehicles and motorcycles, dropped by 14 per cent at constant prices. The turnover of enterprises trading in food products dropped by 12.1 per cent, those trading in non-food products (motor vehicles excluded) – by 16.9 per cent at constant prices.

The turnover of enterprises trading in automotive fuel in January 2010, against January 2009, dropped by 12.2 per cent at constant prices.

The turnover of enterprises engaging in wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles in January 2010, against January 2009, dropped by 3.7 per cent at constant prices.

The turnover of food and beverage service enterprises (VAT excluded) in January 2010, against January 2009, dropped by 22.1 per cent at constant prices (in January 2009, against January 2008, turnover had dropped by 13.1 per cent).                

The turnover of enterprises engaging in retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles, in January 2010, against December 2009, seasonally adjusted, grew by 7.2 per cent, while against January 2009, working day adjusted, dropped by 13.6 per cent.
